Colour: Black with a pale muzzle and markings on chest.

Lifespan: 25 years

Sexing: Dimorphic, the male is larger than the female.

Distribution: Southern Asia including Japan, Korea, northeastern China and far eastern Russia.

Habitat: Moist forest in mountainous areas with thick vegetation.

Threats: Vulnerable in the wild.
